Dan Hastings-Narayanin

Dan Hastings is a London-based journalist, editor and trend forecaster. He began his career in 2016 as a newsroom intern before graduating from the European Institute of Journalism. Dan went on to write in French for publications including Glamour, Vanity Fair, Slate, Marie Claire, Madmoizelle and Le Journal des Femmes.

In 2018, he moved to the UK with the goal of writing exclusively in English. Since then, his work has been published in British Vogue, Teen Vogue, The Independent, The Business of Fashion and more. He has received multiple accolades, including the MHP + Mischief #30ToWatch Young Journalist Award (2021) and the Global 30 Under 30 by Significant Insights (2023).

As Deputy Foresight Editor at The Future Laboratory — a leading trend forecasting and strategic foresight consultancy — Dan researches, writes, edits, commissions and oversees the team and content production for LS:N Global, a trends intelligence platform read by major brands, creative agencies, C-suite executives and researchers exploring the future of lifestyle industries and shifting consumer behaviours.

Born and raised on Réunion Island, off the coast of East Africa, Dan is passionate about decolonising trend forecasting and works to bring underrepresented voices and perspectives to the forefront.
